Introduction
What is a Webelos-ree? A Webelos-ree is a district event that enhances the outdoor program of Webelos Scout dens. This guided experience emphasizes outdoor skills for Webelos Scouts and their parent(s) or guardian(s).
The objectives of Webelos-ree
- Opportunities for Webelos Scouts to learn new skills and apply them in real-life situations.
- Advancement and activity opportunities unique to an outdoor, camping environment.
- Something new for the Webelos Scout and his parent or guardian—an experience outside their normal routine.
What to expect at the Webelos-ree
- Learn/apply outdoor skills by participating in the event. Just by attending and camping at the event the boys will be able to fulfill many of the Outdoorsman Activity Pin requirements. Webelos and their adult leaders/parents are welcome to camp overnight, consistent with BSA regulations, youth protection requirements, and their Pack guidelines. There will be no formal program after the campfire/closing. Participants are responsible for their own equipment, leadership, and program after campfire on Saturday. However, Troop 1905 will provide a chapel service the next morning at 8:30 am.
- Advance by participating in activities that are geared towards earning the requirements of various Activity pins.
- Meet and learn about area Boy Scout troops. Parents also have an opportunity to meet with troop leadership and learn about how area troops operate.
